More and more frequently you ask us how the conception of a new decoration takes place and which artists we are inspired by.
We asked Barbara Marzella, the textile designer at Innbamboo® to answer your curiosity and reveal some curious background.

Hi Barbara, first of all thank you so much for working with us at Innbamboo and helping us shape our vision of beauty. Can you share a little more about the work you do and what motivates you to do it?

Working with Innbamboo® is a pleasure and an opportunity to experiment and create new projects all the time. I started out as a painterly decorator, but fashion and textiles have always fascinated me, also because - not infrequently - trends follow the same direction. So I approached textile design and I must admit that I find it more and more creatively stimulating.

What I love about this work is that it involves me emotionally in new experiences every time. Enthusiasm and passion are the feelings that animate my every gesture. The search for beauty determines all my stylistic choices, and I hope that this exploration can be felt in the decorations of the FoulardBamboo® from the Art line.

On this Blog we have often talked about art, beauty and sustainability: we wonder if you can share with us some of your vision on these issues. Do ethics influence your creative process? Can fashion convey deep thought?

I am convinced that our industry must embark on a process of change geared toward social and environmental sustainability. Fortunately, consumers have begun to urge this change of course, asking the fashion industry to respect the planet and people.

Many brands and production plants-such as the textile district of Prato, in which Innbamboo® is embedded-have begun to demonstrate a more ethical and green approach.

So working with this company, which has always invested in the search for natural fabrics and eco-sustainable production techniques, is an added value for me.

People often try to imagine what artists and creative people do during the day. We are curious what a typical day looks like for you. What are the times when you create and imagine new decors for Innbamboo®?

My day is very chaotic, between projects to complete and ideas to develop. When I dedicate myself to a new decoration, I start by documenting the stylistic and color trends of the moment and of the season to come.

As for the FoulardBamboo® of the Art line, I focus on the lesser known and more intimate works of artists, consulting archives and visiting exhibitions and collections. When, passing my gaze over a canvas, a detail strikes me, I take my cue from it to create a decoration that evokes that pictorial trait. Then, I move in front of the drawing board, use my paints and let creativity guide me in the creation of drawings and sketches.

When I see the result on paper I immediately try to imagine how it will look on the soft fabric of FoulardBamboo® and wonder if it will garner acclaim.

How does it feel to create accessories that other people wear and love? When you create a new decoration, do you let the thought of who might wear it affect you?

Seeing one's decor made and worn is the thing that fills me with the most joy! Helping to create accessories that people appreciate is a great satisfaction and a source of pride.

Every time I design a new decoration for Innbamboo® I have high expectations: I hope that the creative process will enhance the painter I am inspired by and that the artistic choices will be understood by those who will choose that FoulardBamboo®.

What is the decoration to which you are most attached?

Without any doubt, the decoration I am most attached to is the first one I made: the FoulardBamboo® Dali sealed my collaboration with Innbamboo®.

I won't hide from you, however, that the FoulardBamboo® Frida - designed together with creative director Piergiorgio Caggiari - also carved out a place in my heart. We had a lot of fun modifying it until it took its current form. A completely different decoration than what had been created up to that point, and above all a tribute to an artist I adore, an international icon of an independent, stubborn, revolutionary woman.

What is your favorite Innbamboo® accessory and what are you excited to wear this season?

The Innbamboo® accessories that I use the most are the FoulardBamboo®: besides being beautiful they are extremely versatile, I wear them in all seasons and in different ways all the time.

I also find the Backpack very comfortable, in which I can put everything I need for work and stay whole days out of the house.

Finally, I am in love with the Pouch Bag, small but perfect to hold everything I need on special occasions.

What are you working on these days? Innbamboo® has accustomed us to always being surprised: do you have a chance to reveal any indiscretions?

The new Spring/Summer collection is about to be unveiled, so I'll just add that you'll have to wait a very short time to see it!

We're finalizing the Fall/Winter collection, but of course it's all hush-hush. I can only say that we have been seduced by other art forms and are experimenting with new languages.

The interest about the decorations and works that inspired the FoulardBamboo® of the Art line is always alive in those who follow us; for this reason we decided not to limit ourselves with this interview to reveal the background about the origin of our creations, but we want to launch a new column dedicated to the most beloved decorations.

Starting next week, do not miss the first appointment with "InnArte," to discover the lives and philosophy of the painters who influenced the creative process of the unmistakable FoulardBamboo®.
