Piergiorgio Caggiari, co-founder and creative director of our brand, gives us a preview of what's new on the launch pad for a season that promises to be full of energy, creativity and style vibes.

Hi Piergiorgio. The hottest season is now upon us. Can you give us some previews of the keywords that will inspire the new Innbamboo creations?

I like to think that the creations now close to launch will be dressed in brighter tones. The stylistic matrix remains unchanged, always seeking new balances between vivacity and naturalness. In the wake of this path, this year we will focus strongly on the brightness of color. The garments and accessories will be characterized by a vibrant energy: wearing them will be like taking with you a taste of that charge of positivity that makes the warmer months so intense and pleasant.

How many new entries are in the pipeline?

We have been working on several new entries. These include the refresh of some scarves particularly loved by our audience, but also new models for the Art and Soft Touch lines. Another interesting new entry will be in the Bamboo Wear line, which not surprisingly is intrinsically linked to the magic of summer.

Let's start with scarves. For which models is the refresh planned?

We have made new versions for the Alma Tadema, Balla and Kandinsky decors. These are proposals that debuted with great success last season. And which will soon also be available in new and more intense color variants. Perfect for enriching your outfit in the name of versatility, wearing them as scarves, but also as shawls for cool spring evenings, or colorful beach sarongs.

Let's come to the new proposals of the Art line. What inspired you?

The key word is curiosity. We wanted to pay homage to this innate quality, almost an instinct that we always carry within us and constantly pushes us to explore, observe the world in search of cues to discover and learn new things. All this, paying homage to two artists who have made the sense of exploration, and if we want also the rediscovery of the world according to absolutely unprecedented keys of interpretation, their mark of distinction: Keith Haring and Katsushika Hokusai.

Can you tell us more about the two models?

Let's start with Haring, an artist for whom there really is no need to make introductions. With the new decoration we pay homage to his art, which is so popular because it is able to reach people's hearts with force, and with it his place of choice par excellence, namely cities. The result is a "metropolitan" scarf: something I like to liken to a mural on which stand out the human figures so absolute and iconic that have made Haring's art unique. And that in the colors, but before that in what I would call an attitude, restores the sense of the many social and political struggles waged by this great artist.

Can you give us more details about this "metropolitan" attitude?

Cities are vital places saturated with creative energies, but they are also the scene of conflicts and unresolved knots, starting with the environmental issue. And here we come to the point of creative encounter and clash with our philosophy, which in turn is centered on an incessant dialogue between art, energy and a vocation for sustainability. Elements that in this scarf find a new expression of which we are particularly proud. And which we are sure our audience will also fully appreciate.

With Hokusai, on the other hand, we move to a whole other language....

Yes, but to ultimately arrive at the same results. Hokusai is the quintessential Japanese landscape artist, inspiring a whole generation of absolute masters of European painting, including Monet, Degas, Toulouse Lautrec, Van Gogh and Gauguin. An artist who created a universal language, offering an extremely refined, and utterly personal, interpretation of the perfect fusion of nature and everyday life typical of Japanese scenery. In a sense, it is as if Hokusai elected the environment and nature and true muse of his poetics, charging his works with a contemplative sensibility that has something mystical about it. And that in doing so, he often placed bamboo at the center of his subjects.

And again we come back to an iconic element of the Innbamboo style....

That's right. Bamboo represents an iconic element, because it is a symbol of simplicity, tenacity and elegance, as much for Japanese culture, and more generally for the entire Oriental art, as for us, who have always expressed a real predilection for its qualities. Hence the decision to dedicate the new Hokusai decoration to this very subject.

In the opening, you spoke of news for the Soft Touch line of scarves as well. What is simmering in the pot?

These are probably the most radical renewals for the coming season. The cornerstones that inspire this line remain firm, from the handcrafted production at km 0, 100% Made in Tuscany, to the firm will to zero production waste, to the equally firm will to use only certified and sustainable raw materials. Given these certainties, which allow us to make a garment extremely loved for the particular softness of its touch, we have been working on the conception of new decorations, inspired by the theme of travel.

Interesting. What kind of journey should we expect?

Again, it is curiosity that plays the leading role. Because curiosity drives us to travel, to live new experiences of personal enrichment, as if it were a kind of natural fuel for our imagination. And the new decors that will enrich the Soft Touch line are born precisely as an invitation to travel and imagination. We have conceived fantasies and illustrations that we hope will trigger absolutely personal paths of imagination. Whether abstract evocations, memories of places already seen, or fantasies of still unexplored seas, we are sure that everyone will be able to find their own way of interpreting, and loving, these new models.

Last but not least, the novelties of the Bamboo Wear line. Can you anticipate something about that as well?

We are talking about a line that reaches its third season, confirming those characteristics of versatility and eclecticism that have made it so popular. Qualities that find a real sublimation in the kaftan, with a one-size garment with ethnic appeal that will be re-proposed in three lengths, to meet the most varied outfits, and at the same time will be enriched with some new elements. Style details with which we managed to increase its value even more. From the inclusion of a print proposal, to a small but eye-catching change on the neck closure, to the creation of two new color families.

Staying on the topic of curiosity, can you satisfy the one about these new colors as well?

Gladly: we will have five new solid colors, particularly vibrant and energetic, consistent with the leitmotif of the new entries for the Spring-Summer 2023 season. And another line related to earth colors, featuring vertical prints in black or beige. An intuition in full harmony with the Innbamboo style, made of love, respect and artistic reinterpretation of the most essential and welcoming natural forms.

Thank you for these previews Piergiorgio. We understand that next spring/summer will be really full of novelties and stimuli?

It really is. And it will also be an opportunity to pull the trigger on a winter season that will be really full of surprises. We are already buzzing, with a particularly lively research activity involving, among other things, numerous external collaborations. We look forward to being able to provide you with the first anticipations in this regard.
